Boost your child's self-esteem with portraits
Having portraits taken of each child at important milestones yields precious rewards now and in the futrue. The portraits and the occasions they provide for nurturing self-esteem send a powerfull message of love that your children will never outgrow.
- 1. Take portraits at the same milestones in each child's lief. Children love comparing their portraits to their siblings' at the same ages. By marking your calendar in advance with "portrait reminders'" it's easy to keep track of the intervals when you want portraits taken. A good rule of thumb is to have infants photographed every three months, and toddler ages on to three years, every six months.
- 2. Make portrait day a special occasion. Having children "star" in their own portraits is a wonderful boost to their self-esteem. A little primping and lots of compliments about how handsome or pretty your children look will make them feel special.
- 3. Make a special tradition of puttings the most recent portraits in frames spending even a short time with your children talking about how they've changed and grown since the previous protrait makes them feel important. Each child will cherish this one-on-one time with you.
- 4. Display precious portraits of your children. Imagine the smiles when your children see their portraits displayed on the hallway wall or about their bed. This shows them they can stand alone confidently and helps boost self-esteem.
